The screen shows but a torn corner of a huge inked maze — black ink on aged parchment, hatched walls, a compass rose bleeding through the paper. Every ten seconds the map itself turns at random: quarter left, quarter right, or clean around. The world's north never moves, but your parchment does, and orientation becomes the entire puzzle. Find the red X marked exitus, sheet by sheet, each one larger than the last. There is no timer to beat and no game over — just you, your inked footprints, and the countdown slip that reads TILL THE MAP TURNS.
How to play
Arrow keys walk True North / South / East / West — always the world's compass, never the page's. On touch screens, swipe in a direction to keep walking that way.
Press Enter or Space (or click / tap) to set sail on a new sheet, and again to advance after you reach the red X.
Press P or Esc to shelter the map (pause); P or Esc again to resume.
Every 10 seconds the map rotates by a random quarter turn — watch the countdown slip and the timer ring on the compass. The compass rose and your fading ink footprints are how you keep your bearings.
Goal: reach the red X (exitus) marked on the maze. Your PACES count is kept on the parchment slip; the sheets grow from I upward as you clear them.
