Fast pairs: a saturated periodic block showing an element symbol meets its name card across the bond seam — Na snaps to Sodium, Fe bonds to Iron — while a lab-glass reaction timer drains on the bench. Every clean bond rings the seam, queues the element into your periodic chain, and feeds a multiplier; every wrong pair shaves seconds off the vessel. Clear rounds before the reaction runs dry and the bench goes up in a runaway. Bold periodic blocks, atomic-mass corners and a Bunsen flame that turns hot as the timer lows out.
How to play
Click a symbol tile on the left deck, then its matching name tile on the right — the pair snaps into a bond at the centre seam.
Clear every pair in the round before the glass reaction timer runs dry; leftover seconds convert into a time bonus.
A wrong pair flashes red, resets your streak and costs 1.6 s of reaction time.
Three clean snaps in a row raise the chain multiplier (up to x5); bonded elements line up in the periodic-chain strip.
Each round adds pairs (4 up to 8) and shrinks the reaction window (21 s down to a 7.5 s floor).
Prefer the keyboard: arrow keys move the focus ring, Enter bonds a pair, P or Esc pauses.
If the timer hits zero the bench contaminates and the run ends — your best score is saved as a lab record.
